Rosa bracteata is considered potentially toxic. A study evaluating the toxicity of various plant parts found that the fruit extract and its ethyl acetate fraction exhibited significant toxicity in brine shrimp assays, indicating the presence of bioactive compounds that may be harmful. 

 

This extract is derived from the aerial parts of Rosa bracteata, commonly known as Macartney Rose, collected in Pearland, Texas. Extraction was performed using 90% ethanol, followed by filtration through a 0.22 µm filter to ensure purity.
